nevertheless

I do not have much experience, nevertheless, I am very motivated.
I do not have much experience; nevertheless, I am very motivated.
I do not have much experience. Nevertheless, I am very motivated.

Nevertheless is a contrast connector. It introduces an idea that contrasts with the previous sentence.

When nevertheless introduces a second complete sentence, put a full stop or semicolon before it and a comma after it:

  • ‘I do not have much experience. Nevertheless, I am very motivated.’
  • ‘I do not have much experience; nevertheless, I am very motivated.’

Do not connect the two sentences using only a comma.
