I made some pasta while Dora did the ironing.
Use while + subject + verb to connect two actions that happen at the same time: ‘I made some pasta while Dora did the ironing.’
When the while clause comes first, put a comma after it: ‘While Dora did the ironing, I made some pasta.’

I made some pasta. Meanwhile, Dora did the ironing.
Use meanwhile to connect two separate sentences. It normally comes after a full stop or semicolon and is followed by a comma: ‘I made some pasta. Meanwhile, Dora did the ironing.’
