Send is one of the verbs that can have two objects: a person and a thing.
There are two possible structures:
- send + person + thing: ‘He sent Laura a letter.’
- send + thing + to + person: ‘He sent a letter to Laura.’
Do not put to + person immediately after send: ‘He sent to Laura a letter.’
Other verbs that can be used in the same way include give, lend, offer, promise, read, sell, show, teach, tell and write.
