In English there are verbs that can have two objects. Send is one of these verbs. Most of these verbs can have two possible structures.
- verb + direct object + to + indirect object (He sent a letter to me.)
- verb + indirect object + direct object (He sent me a letter.)
Other common verbs that follow this structures are: give, lend, offer, read, sell, show, promise, tell, etc.
